Preparing Logs for a Visibility Assessment

Clients sometimes send years of raw WMS dumps before an assessment. Volume is not clarity. For a distribution visibility engagement we ask for sixty to ninety days of outbound manifests, daily inventory snapshots for the top two hundred SKUs, and any existing delay or shortage notes from supervisors.

Paper logs still matter. Many Thai mid-size distributors keep gate books that capture arrival times the WMS never sees. Photograph or scan those pages for the assessment window—legibility beats perfect formatting.

On the first site day, plan escorted access during a peak outbound window. Charts drafted from files alone miss the queue behavior that only appears when three trucks arrive at once.
